Overview

When a contract breaks down, speed matters.

Contractual disputes left unaddressed get more expensive, not less. Whether it’s a supplier who hasn’t delivered, a partner who’s walked away, or a debt that’s been ignored, the sooner you act, the stronger your position.

We’ll tell you quickly whether you have a viable claim, what the realistic options are, and what it’s likely to cost. No open-ended conversations, no vague advice.

Breach of Contract

What counts as a breach?

What is a contract?

A contract is an agreement, written or verbal, between two or more parties. It sets out what each side is expected to do. In business, contracts govern everything from supplier relationships to partnership agreements to terms of sale.

When is it breached?

A breach occurs when one party fails to meet their obligations under the agreement. That failure can be clear-cut, a supplier who didn’t deliver, a client who didn’t pay, or it can be more nuanced, where the outcome wasn’t what was agreed but the breach isn’t obvious on the face of it.

Not every breach leads to a viable claim. There are qualifying criteria, and the strength of your position depends on the specifics. We’ll give you a straight assessment before you commit to anything.

What happens next?

Under the Mediation Act 2017, exploring mediation is required before litigation. In many cases it leads to a faster, cheaper resolution. When it doesn’t, or when the other side isn’t engaging in good faith, we’re ready to take it to court.

Most successful claims result in damages that reflect the actual losses you’ve suffered. We’ll advise on what’s realistic before you decide how to proceed.

I found Mr Boyle to be incredibly professional and thorough in all my dealings with him. Not being used to the legal process at all, he achieved the result I had hoped for and I couldn’t have asked for more effective representation. I would recommend his services to anyone.
